This course is passport funding eligible.
Location: KW Habilitation, 99 Ottawa Street South, Kitchener

This course is for adults 18+ with a developmental disability and is focused on building the skills essential for employment, creating a resume, interview preparation and more!  When the course is complete, there will be a meeting to discuss the next steps of your employment goals, including opportunities to work with a Job Coach/Job Developer for ongoing support.

This in person Job Readiness Course Includes:

  • 32 hours in class learning during the first 8 weeks (Mondays 1:30 PM -3:30 PM and Wednesdays 9:30 AM -11:30 AM)
  • Hands on skills evaluation at 2-3 different community sites planned throughout the course
  • One to one resume work
  • Practice interviews with community partners (approximately 2 hours)
  • Literacy Evaluation (approximately 1.5 hours)

• Rights & Responsibilities
• Being Professional in the Workplace
• The Realities of Work
• Managing Work and Personal Life
• Goals and Barriers
• Job Search and Interview Skills
• Learn the importance of giving and receiving both positive and negative feedback
• After the class portion, a plan will be created with you that can include continued skill
building, volunteerism and job development
